Rescheduled concert closes Cruisin’ Downtown
Downtown Gulfport had a final hurrah Saturday night as it held its ‘View the Cruise Sunset’ Concert after it was rained out last week.
Cruisers had one more night of live music, food, and drinks in the downtown area.
Amanda Shaw and the Cute Guys opened the show, the Louisiana musician famous for her talent on the fiddle, followed by local favorites The Chitlins and Rockin’ Doopsie Junior and the Zydeco Twisters.
Chandeleur Island Brewing Company had a sizeable pre-show turnout with a performance by members of Blackwater Brass, who will headline Llamapalooza in Biloxi next week. Gulfport Main Street Director Laurie Toups said, “We weren’t done yet. Literally, we weren’t done. Last weekend, we had a great weekend for View the Cruise on Sunday but Saturday night, the night before, we got rained out. This concert was supposed to happen then. So, we got on the phone, we called everyone, and we said we’re not done yet. Do y’all want to come back and try it again? And that’s exactly what happened.”
