Repairs made to fix sinkhole at Beauvoir Rd and Highway 90 in Biloxi

A sinkhole that opened up at Beauvoir Road and Highway 90 is under repair.

Biloxi officials said the hole was first spotted yesterday about 4 p.m. and was no more than a pothole at first glance.

Engineers who went to inspect it saw it was a washout because of the area’s high water table and sandy soil. The hole had opened up to seven feet wide and it was four feet deep.

Contractors made repairs this afternoon and will lay asphalt tomorrow.
