Rep. Randall Patterson Switches from Democratic to Republican Party

Thursday, State Representative Randall Patterson announced he is switching from the Democrat to the Republican Party.

For 11 years, Patterson has served District 115, which covers east Biloxi and D’Iberville. Patterson is the third House representative since 2011 to switch from Democrat to Republican. Patterson tells News 25 his views are no longer in line with those of the Democratic Party.

Patterson says, “I’ve always had conservative values. I feel that I align more with the Republican Party than the Democratic Party. I want to thank the people of District 115 for voting for me for the past 11 years and keeping me in office.”

Thursday’s switch makes the Republican majority in the State House 66 to 56.
