Remembering Richard Kopszywa’s legacy on the coast
The body of a shrimper who disappeared on Sunday has been recovered.
Richard Kopszywa’s body was found by a paddleboarder earlier this morning near Deer Island.
Kopszywa was inducted into the Maritime Industry and Seafood Museum’s Hall of Fame as a captain.
He also operated the oldest known Biloxi Lugger, that ship also being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
In his Hall of Fame biography, Kopszywa was remembered for his love and passion he displayed in every act of kindness he performed along the Gulf Coast.
He was 75 years old.
