Remembering Martin Luther King Jr.

Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Many South Mississippians reflected today on the Civil Right icon’s legacy.

On the third Monday of the month — close to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Jan. 15 birthday — federal, state and local governments and various industries recognize Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

A few MLK Remembrance events went on as scheduled today in South Mississippi on the Coast, including the Mississippi Power Day of Service where company volunteers packed meals to distribute to people in need in our region.
