Remembering Long Beach officers Det. Northcutt and Sgt. Morgan 28 years later

LONG BEACH, Miss. (WXXV)- Today marks a somber anniversary for the men and women of the Long Beach Police Department.

It was on this day in 1998 that Detective James Northcutt and Sgt. Steven Morgan were shot and killed while responding to a domestic disturbance at a Long Beach home.

Both men were veteran law enforcement officers, who gave their lives in service to their community.

Long Beach police posted a tribute to the men, saying their legacy lives on 28 years later in the lives they touched and every officer that continues to serve.
