Remembering Hancock County Sheriff Ronnie Peterson

Former Hancock County Sheriff Ronnie Peterson has passed away.
Peterson died last night at age 73 after a year-long battle with cancer. He was sheriff of Hancock County for 20 years from 1980 to 2000 and continued to work with the department until 2011.
The former United States Marine is remembered by many to be a great icon in the community and a tremendous leader.
