Remembering George County Deputy Jeremy Malone
GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)-Sunday was a somber anniversary in George County; it marked the two-year anniversary since the death of Deputy Jeremy Malone.
Deputy Malone was killed during a traffic stop on January 4, 2024.
The shooting happened on Highway 98.
He was no stranger to law enforcement across the Coast, being sworn in as a reserve officer to help with special events in Biloxi back in 2018.
Jackson County Sheriff John Ledbetter also attended the police academy with Malone, saying Malone was a dedicated family man and dedicated officer.
The George County Sheriff’s Office shared the impact of Malone’s service and sacrifice is still felt by the community.
The sheriff’s office says his courage and commitment to protecting others will never be forgotten.
