Remembering Andrew Demboski
Family and friends are grieving the death of a Mississippi State student who fell to his death from a jumbotron on campus Saturday morning.
Police say the 21-year-old was with some friends and climbed up on top of the video system. Officials say Andrew Demboski suffered a serious head injury and went into cardiac arrest, then died. Demboski was an Ocean Springs High School graduate and he grew up on the Coast.
His family and friends still live in Ocean Springs. Today, they spoke to News 25 on the friend they’ll never forget. Toan Nguyen, friend of Andrew Demboski since fifth grade, said, “I have five friends that I consider my brothers. Andrew was one of them. He was just one of those dudes where I knew that we were going to be friends for longer than all the other kids.” “He was always very high character, always positive, always very upbeat and he got along with a lot of people. He wasn’t just like get along with one group of people, he knew how to get along with all walks of life,” said Casey Causey, friend of Andrew Demboski since sixth grade.
Both Nguyen and Causey tell News 25 Andrew loved to sail and they would go sailing with him each summer when he would come home from school.
