Regional honors are rolling in like a River for PRCC Baseball team
Postseason baseball accolades are rolling in like a river… a maroon and gold river, to be exact! If you can’t tell from that intro, this is about the prestigious Pearl River Community College baseball team. Most recently received, the 2024 Wildcat program has taken home five Region 23 awards.
We’re starting the honors off with our hometown hero that is East Central’s very own Hollis Porter! He’s going to need both hands to hold up all his postseason accolades, earning MACCC Player of the Year and First Team All-MACCC just two weeks ago. He is now being recognized as an All-Region player and it’s not just his bat that gets him noticed, but also his glove converting 383 of his 388 total chances, committing only five errors, and having a hand in 29 double plays. That resume and much more landed him Golden Glove honors.
Joining him with All-Region and Golden Glove honors is switch hitter and infielder Jeff Ince. Ince will be continuing his career at Samford University!
Lastly, Campbell signee and Wildcat outfielder Bryce Fowler was also selected as a member of the All-Region team.
Congratulations to these three men, and we look forward to seeing what you all accomplish next!
