Harrison Central’s Makayla Lindsey signs with Jones College
The Harrison Central Softball Program has been one of the best in the state — having won four state championships — and is consistently sending its top players to the next level.
Next in line for the Red Rebelettes — senior shortstop Makayla Linsey signing with Jones College — home of the 1028 NJC Double-A Division II national champions.
The one they call “Peanut” bats lead-off for Harrison Central — hitting at a clip of .375 last season to go along with an on-base percentage of .468.
Lindsey says she’s been playing softball since she was four years old and that playing for the Bobcats is a dream come true.
“When I went up there for my first visit, it was comfortable. I wasn’t nervous. I was comfortable. It felt like a new home,” she said. “I wanted Jones out of all the schools, but, yeah. I’m coming from a winning team to another winning team. It means a lot. It shows all the support I have and everybody that I had on my side.”
Lindsey says the Bobcats first reached out to her after a strong performance in an all-star game, and the rest is history.
