Red Cross Declares Emergency Blood Shortage, Offers Super Bowl Tickets to Donors
The American Red Cross has announced a critical emergency blood shortage, with the number of donors at its lowest point in 20 years—a staggering 40% decline. This shortage has led to a deficit of nearly 7,000 units of blood, jeopardizing emergency transfusions and patients in dire need.
To address this crisis, Red Cross has partnered with the NFL to enter blood donors who participate from now until January 26th into a giveaway for super bowl tickets—aiming to score big for patients in need, because health emergencies don’t pause for game day. They are using this incentive to call donors off the sidelines and feel motivated to make a life-saving contribution.
Locally here in Bay St. Louis, resident Melanie Champagne felt compelled to take action for her community. Giving back to her community has boosted her mood and she hopes others along the Gulf Coast will feel compelled to do the same. She was also pleasantly surprised about the chance to win tickets to the Super Bowl
The prize includes tickets for two to the game in New Orleans, access to pre-game activities, entry to the official Super Bowl Experience, round-trip airfare, three nights of hotel accommodations, and a $1,000 gift card for expenses.
