Red Cross asking South Mississippi to give gift of life this holiday season
Holiday travel, as well as seasonal illnesses, heighten the need for blood donations to help patients heal. The American Red Cross is holding blood drives throughout the month to restock the depleted supply and make sure blood is on hand for patients during the winter months.
As a way of saying thank you for those donations, the Red Cross, in partnership with Prime Video and their film “Candy Cane Lane,” anyone giving blood or plasma will be entered to win a $1,000 Amazon gift card and a 65-inch Amazon Fire TV.
In addition, anyone donating Dec. 1-17 will receive a $10 Amazon gift card by email and those donating Dec. 18-Jan. 5 will receive a long-sleeved T-shirt while supplies last.
You can make an appointment to donate using the Red Cross Blood Donor App or by visiting RedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
