Red Barnett Senior Center holds Halloween Spectacular
Seniors from across the Coast gathered at the Biloxi Civic Center to enjoy Red Barnett’s 7th annual Halloween Spectacular.
Senior citizens put on their customers, face paint, and their dancing shoes and celebrated Halloween at the Buccaneer Rising themed party.
Along with enjoying candy, music, and games, adults were able to visit displays from health care vendors. There was even a special show presented by the Dixie Hip Shakers.
After not being able to enjoy the event last year due to COVID, Jamie Smith, director of Red Barnett Senior Center, says this is a good way for seniors to get out and enjoy each other’s company. “The seniors get to come out. They get to socialize. They get to mingle. They get to talk to the vendors, you know, some people might have some questions, but scared to call somebody. So, they are here in person to talk to them if they have any questions and it’s just a great event.”
Seniors also enjoyed lunch provided by Chick-Fil-A costume contest and door prizes.
