Recognizing National Salvation Army Day
Today is National Salvation Army Day, a day to recognize the organization’s 160 years of service both across the United States and here on the Coast.
The Salvation Army was founded on this date in 1865 in London by William and Catherine Booth.
Now the organization operates multiple locations in South Mississippi, including the Biloxi Kroc Center, the Gulf Coast Center of Hope, and the Pascagoula Corps, just to name a few.
Their mission remains to provide various forms of assistance to those in need across our community.
The Salvation Army of the Mississippi Gulf Coast is always seeking volunteers and donations and they are currently most in need of food at their Center of Hope location.
