Recalculating teacher pay raises in Mississippi

The Mississippi Department of Education is working with every school district in the state to verify the number of teachers and teacher’s assistants to update the cost of the teacher pay raise.

Once finalized, the MDE will pass that information along to lawmakers and work with them to secure the funding for pay raises.

The education department expects to have the total number of state-funded teaching positions and funding amount finalized by the end of the month.
