Rebels to receive NCAA committee on infractions ruling Friday
Things are moving quickly in Oxford, according to the Clarion Ledger, with Ole Miss reportedly having received its 24 hour notice of an NCAA committee on infractions ruling, just three days after Matt Luke was introduced as the next head coach.
At this point it’s totally unknown what he’ll be up against after a years-long investigation into the football program. What is known is that the allegations are very significate. The most serious of them being a lack of institutional control.
Overall, 21 violations were levied against the Rebels, 15 of which are the level 1 variety. All of those stem back to the Hugh Freeze era which culminated with his abrupt resignation back in July. The stakes are high for him as well, having been charged with a failure to monitor.
Ole Miss administration will receive its ruling from the committee at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow and can still appeal a potentially harsh decision.
