Reading Gate Re-test Begins Today

Today was the first day for third graders state wide who failed the reading gate test in April to take the re-test.
For the remainder of the week, school districts will be allowing students to retake the test. In the Biloxi school district, 8% of their third graders did not pass. Last week they gave students extra time with a literacy coach each school day to work on their areas of weakness.
Those students who do not pass the re-test will have one more opportunity to test during the summer. Biloxi will offer a four week literacy program in June in addition to a two week reading boot camp before the final re-test in July.
