Rare sea turtle nest found in Pass Christian

A rare sea turtle nest has been found on the Mississippi Coast beach front.

Workers from the Harrison County Sand Beach Authority located the nest in Pass Christian by following water tracks to the location.

The workers called the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies to report the tracks and IMMS confirmed that the tracks belonged to a sea turtle and they were able to locate the nest close by.

The sighting of this nest is super rare and it is also the third sighting on the Mississippi mainland since 2018.

You can’t see the nest in these videos because it is under the sand, which is how the turtle protects its babies.
