Rapper Young Dolph, 36, dead after being shot outside of Memphis bakery

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Rapper Young Dolph has died following a shooting outside of a bakery in Memphis, Tennessee. He was 36.

The shooting took place in front of Makeda’s Cookies, a renowned bakery in the area, according to FOX13 in Memphis.

Reports say someone drove up, shot and killed the rapper at around 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Young Dolph released his debut studio album King of Memphis in 2016, charting on the Billboard 200.

The Memphis Police Department declined to immediately confirm the identity of the victim.

However, Young Dolph’s camouflage Lamborghini was still parked outside of the bakery when police arrived.

The rapper was identified by many close friends as the victim in the shooting after multiple videos of the incident were posted to social media.

FOX13 in Memphis reports confirmation of the identity of the young rapper to three unnamed law enforcement sources.

No suspect information is available at this time.
