Rapiscan Systems Classic starts Friday
The C-Spire Pro-Am was held today at Grand Bear Golf Club in Saucier.
News 25 went out to see if last night’s weather will have an impact on the tournament.
Jack Nicklaus, who stands among the greatest golfers of all time, designed the Grand Bear Course himself. Golfers at the pro-am attribute his design to the course’s condition after last night’s weather, picturesque, vibrant, and mostly dry.
Craig Ray, the director of tourism for the state of Mississippi, tested the green during the C-Spire Pro-Am this morning. “The course is in great shape. It engulfed and soaked up all the rain that was there yesterday and today. The course is in great shape, I know the pros will love it. I feel by this weekend it’ll dry up more and will be nice and tight. The greens will be fast and it’ll be a great tournament for this weekend.”
The first round of the Rapiscan Systems Classic begins Friday morning at 11.
