Railroad Museum Open House
The Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum in Gulfport cut the ribbon on their newest Christmas light show addition.
The museum has been open for over two years now, but recently they added a whole outdoor garden railroad and decorated it all in Christmas lights just in time for the holidays.
The Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce joined owners, city officials, and residents for the ribbon cutting and open house.
Museum member Richard Mueller tells News 25 the railroad museum is free to the public and it’s a magical place where kids and adults can create memories together. “Well we have a garden railroad. It runs over 20 trains. It runs even when it rains. We have the trains right behind us and you’ll see the trains are running and it’s just starting to be dusk. You’ll see some of the Christmas lights, but it’s pretty spectacular after 5 o’clock.”
The museum also features the Spirit of Gulfport train ride that kids and adults can hop on and enjoy. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m. The outdoor Christmas lights show is from 5 to 9 every night through January 1st.
