Quiet night ahead, but looking hot and hazy over the weekend

Clear skies and dry conditions will continue tonight with lows in the upper 70s. Sunshine dominates the forecast Friday, with afternoon highs climbing into the low and mid 90s.

Temperatures will continue to increase over the weekend, reaching the mid 90s on Saturday and the upper 90s by Sunday. Combined with the humidity, it will feel even hotter, with heat index values climbing to around 107 degrees Saturday afternoon.

The hottest weather arrives early next week as highs soar to around 100 degrees Monday through Wednesday. Warm overnight lows in the upper 70s will provide little relief, and the prolonged heat will increase the risk of heat-related illnesses for anyone spending extended time outdoors.

If you have outdoor plans, take frequent breaks, drink plenty of water, wear lightweight clothing, and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the afternoon.

This hot, mainly rain-free pattern is expected to hold through midweek before a small chance of showers and thunderstorms returns by next Thursday.
