Quarterback battle at LSU wide open

What started as a four-horse for the LSU quarterback job is now down to two, following the transfers of Lowell Narcisse and Justin McMillan.

That leaves St. Stanislaus alum Myles Brennan as one of two scholarship QBs still left in the program as well as Ohio State graduate transfer Joe Burrow.

Narcisse and McMillan were absent from Tuesday’s practice and by Wednesday morning both had announced their decisions to leave Baton Rouge.  LSU Head Coach Ed Orgeron said, “I don’t blame them, I don’t blame them. If they see that they’re not going to be the starting quarterback, they want to leave. And we gave them some grades, we gave them some grades and there was a pecking order. But there was no decision made. And those guys decided that they wanted to go which I supported them, talked to them and wished them the best.”

Coach O went on to say he’s gonna let the QB battle play itself out until there’s a clear cut winner between Brennan and Burrow.
