Purvis Woman’s Club Holds Annual Tour of Homes

The Purvis Woman’s Club will host their annual Tour of Homes on Saturday, December 6th, from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Money from ticket sales will be used to fund charitable projects such as helping needy families for Christmas, supporting local school and library projects, promoting the arts, and youth leadership.

This year’s tour will feature three homes. Shane and Jennifer Burge have graciously allowed their home at 963 Highway 589 (Purvis) to be included in the tour. The Burge home is handicap accessible and promises to be full of Christmas charm and surprises.

Also on tour is the home of Leslie and Jana Keith, located at 300 Coaltown Road (Purvis). From the garland-draped front entrance and through the entire home, visitors will experience the beauty of Christmas and an abundance of hospitality.

Completing the tour locations is the home of Jimmy and Marlena Johnson located at 148 Browns Bridge Road (Purvis). An angel looks down on a beautiful tree dripping with crystal decorations in the formal dining room, while in another room, an entire tree is decorated with ornaments given to Dr. Johnson during her years in the Lamar County school system. A collection of nutcrackers awaits visitors in yet another room.

Tickets for the event are $15 each and are on sale at Jessi Jayne Vintage Boutique (769) 456-7082, Purvis Flower Shop (601-794-8280), and The Wildflower Florist (601-794-6413), or from any Woman’s Club member. Tickets may also be purchased at each home the evening of the event.
