Pupseidon Parade in Diamondhead

Carnival season kicked off Saturday with the Mystic Krewe of Pupseidon taking to the streets in Diamondhead for a puppy pawrade.
The theme was “Lassie in the Sky with Diamonds” so owners and their four-legged friends put on their best 70s outfits. Parade officials tell News 25 this year’s parade was bigger than last year.
All money raised goes to support animal shelters along the Coast. Parade Organizer Kathy Wilkinson said, “We had a great time. The weather helped us. We had wonderful sunny weather. We had folks come in from Florida, Louisiana, and Alabama to celebrate with us and we like to do this because we get to celebrate our own pets and all the wonderful joy they give us and at the same time we get to draw attention to the less fortunate ones and how we can help them best.”
About 20 dogs made their way around the route at the Diamondhead Country Club.
