PTSD Awareness Walk tomorrow in Gulfport
Tomorrow you can get out and enjoy the beautiful weather while raising awareness for post-traumatic stress disorder.
Crusaders for Veterans will be hosting their first ever PTSD Awareness Walk at the Ken Combs Pier. Veterans suffering from PTSD have taken their own life in the past year and the nonprofit wants the community to get involved to help combat the growing issue.
Crusaders for Veterans President Kevin Cuttill is inviting the public to come out and speak to some of these veterans suffering from PTSD to get a better understanding of what they’re going through. “They can’t transition back to non-structured civilian life. They have these issues, learn about it, and deal with it. Don’t label them as bad attitude veterans. That’s not it. They’re dealing with their own demons, learn them, and understand them.”
Registration for the walk will begin at 8 a.m. with the walk getting underway at 9. Registration is $10 and you can sign up at crusadersforveterans.com.
