Protecting property in Pass Christian

While you don’t have much control on your electricity going out, there are things you can do before Sally arrives to protect your property as residents and business owners in the Pass know all too well.

Armed with shovels, Pass Christian home and business owners flowed into the sandbag site set up at the city’s public works center on North Street Monday.

Sand is available at the site 24/7 as well as bags for the sand until it runs out.

News 25 caught up with one resident who is making sure his home is ready when Sally hits. Pass Christian resident David Barlett said, “The surge is the main thing I worry about, people who live in low-lying areas. Like I said, we’re high up. The wind, we built a fairly good house I believe, so I think we should be okay. No real predictions. Just everybody hunker down, and stay safe.”
