A private plane made an emergency landing at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport overnight, causing some flight cancellations and delays.

South Mississippi Towing sent us the video you see here, showing that foam was used because jet fuel was pouring from the plane after it landed.A hazmat team worked overnight to clean up the fuel, said tow company owner Tracy Allen.

A King Air flight had to make the emergency landing after its landing gear would not deploy. The plane originally was scheduled to land at Stennis, but diverted to Gulfport-Biloxi because the commercial airport was better equipped to handle a crash landing.

All five people on board were safe and no injuries were reported.

Clay Williams, executive director for the airport, said there was no damage to the runway.

“The airfield has been inspected and swept and is now reopened and operations are resuming,” he said.

South Mississippi Towing removed the plane from the runway.

According to the airport’s website, an American Airlines flight was canceled Monday and other flights were showing delays. If you have a flight scheduled today, be sure to check the website for updates.
