Absentee Voting Deadline This Weekend For Primary Election

Voters will be heading out to vote in Mississippi for primary elections in Mississippi’s U.S. Senate and House races.

Polls on Election Day will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Here is a rundown of candidates appearing on the ballot here in South Mississippi for these primaries.

Incumbent U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith is seeking another six-year term in the upper chamber, but she faces a Republican primary challenge from Ocean Springs native Sarah Adlakha.

It’s a three-way race in the Democratic primary for this Senate seat between Scott Colom, Priscilla Williams-Till, and Albert Littell.

The primaries for Mississippi’s fourth congressional district seat are also on the ballot. On the Republican side, incumbent Congressman Mike Ezell seeks a third term, but first he has to get past the Republican primary and challenger Sawyer Walters.

There’s also a three-way race for this seat on the Democratic primary side.

State Representative Jeffrey Hulum III joins D. Ryan Grover and Paul Blackman on the ballot in the hopes of advancing to the general election in November.
