President Trump rally in support of Hyde-Smith
President Trump made a trip down to the Coliseum for a rally, endorsing Senate candidate Cindy Hyde-Smith.
With President Trump making his first appearance at the Coliseum since 2016, his main goal was to try to persuade Mississippi to vote for Cindy Hyde-Smith in the runoff against Mike Espy for a special Senate seat. “Mississippi deserves a senator who shares your values and will fight for your values and that senator is Cindy Hyde-Smith.”
The president didn’t come alone. Vice President Mike Pence was in attendance, saying Cindy Hyde-Smith has supported President Trump’s agenda every step of the way. “Cindy Hyde-Smith is a rock-solid conservative with a proven record, forged right here in Mississippi and in our nation’s capital. As your senator, Cindy Hyde-Smith has been there every time we needed her.”
Vice president Pence said with Hyde-Smith, Governor Phil Bryant, and President Trump, Mississippi will be safer and stronger than ever before. President Trump then goes on to say to protect the achievements from his term, Coast residents must show up and vote for Republicans to keep control of the White House.
Hyde Smith said, “I have worked very hard for you and you can count on me when it comes to your conservative values.”
President Trump said, “It’s about respecting our country. It’s about coming together as one united American family.”
While covering a variety of topics like lower taxes and the second amendment, each speaker stressed the importance of this election. “It’s about the people of Mississippi. It’s about what you believe in and what you care about,” said Hyde-Smith.
“America is back and we are just getting started Mississippi,” said Pence.
Trump said, “We will make America great again. Thank you, Mississippi.”
