Prescribed burn happening in Jackson County
JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- If you see smoke in parts of Jackson County near the City of Gautier, there’s a reason.
The Sandhill Crane Wildlife Refuge is undertaking a prescribed burn on 161 acres south of I-10 and east of Gautier Vancleave Road.
The refuge schedules these burns regularly to restore the native habitat for species that live in the refuge.
