Preparing for Hurricane Season

The official start of the 2019 Atlantic hurricane season is just days away. The local emergency management’s message is “we’re ready, are you?”

Harrison County officials and News 25 are gearing up for anything that could threaten our area this season. Harrison County EMA Director Rupert Lacy tells News 25 the time to prepare is now.

You should already be putting your kit together, checking your evacuation zone, and have an evacuation plan ready to put into action. “As we revisit hurricane season this year, we’re hoping everyone is ready from an individual standpoint, a government standpoint, and trying to get all of our residents and citizens to that same level so that we don’t have any problems.”
