Preparing for the 12th annual Bears on Patrol event
Today is National Teddy Bear Day and there is no better way to celebrate then by giving one to a child in need.
The North Bay Civitan Club of D’Iberville and St. Martin is back for their 12th annual Bears on Patrol donation drive.
This event will be held on Saturday the 11th and gives people the opportunity to donate teddy bears to those in need.
The donated toys are taken to first responders who then give them to children in emergency situations.
This year, the club will donate the bears to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department. North Bay Civitan Club of D’Iberville and St. Martin President Keith Wilson said, “I actually had a friend who benefited from a teddy bear when she was a young person and to receive, to be on the receiving end of a teddy bear gives you that comfort, that hope, that all things are going to be good in the end and the best is yet to come.”
The event will take place at the Promenade Shopping Center on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
