PRCC football concludes spring in dramatic fashion
When given the choice would you rather have a big juicy steak or a hot dog? The winner of today’s spring football game at Pearl River Community College got to choose the same thing.
The game was broken down into ten series, offense scores, they win a series, defense takes a stand, they win a series.
Scrimmage tied at five when former East Central running back Tony Brown takes it ten yards to the house on the very first play to win the competition for the offense.
PRCC RB Tony Brown said, “Any competition you want to win so I mean when I made the touchdown it felt good. Sorry to the defense, I mean if they had to eat hot dogs, let them eat hot dogs. But I’m going to enjoy the steak.”
PRCC Head Coach Seth Smith said, “Honestly the biggest thing we learned is just the leadership that we’re able to bring back. Not going to make an excuse, it’s the truth, we didn’t get an opportunity to do this in the spring last year – there was no spring. And the spring is where you establish a team, or we think so. So, we feel like we’ll leave this spring, roll into summer and have a great idea as to who some of our core leaders are.”
We’ll have more on the East Central High School reunion at PRCC in the coming days right here on News 25.
