PRCC, county officials announce Hancock County scholarship program

Pearl River County Community College, in partnership with Hancock County officials, are announcing a scholarship program to help residents of the county pursue a higher education degree.

Hancock County Port & Harbor Commission, through Hancock County Board of Supervisors and Southern Mississippi Planning and Development District, appropriated $60,000 for the creation of the Hancock County Tuition Assistance Program at Pearl River Community College.

The program will provide Hancock County residents with up to four semesters of tuition assistance at PRCC.

A formal announcement is planned for 10 a.m. Monday at the Hancock County campus of PRCC.

Pearl River Community College President Adam Breerwood will be on hand, along with Hancock County Supervisor Scotty Adam, Port & Harbor Commissioner Derek Necaise; and Southern Mississippi Planning and Development District officials.

Details on how the tuition assistance program will work will be among the topics of discussion.
