PRC and George Co. catchers named to high school all-star roster

In the high school ranks, a pair of local standout catchers have been selected to compete alongside the nation’s best.

Yesterday, Pearl River Central’s Hayden Dunhurst and George County’s Logan Tanner were named to the Perfect Game All-Star Classic representing the east team.

Dunhurst, an Ole Miss commit and a 2017 state champion with the 5A Blue Devils, is the third-ranked catcher nationally by Perfect Game.

Tanner, a Mississippi State commit and a 2018 state runner-up with the 6A Rebels, is the top-ranked backstop in the entire country, not to mention a dominant ace pitcher.

The game will be played on August 12^th at San Diego’s Petco Park and televised at 7 p.m. on the MLB Network.
