Prayer service held for man injured in Chevron Pascagoula Refinery fire

BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV) — A prayer service was held on Tuesday evening at Heritage Baptist Church for a beloved father, friend and softball coach.

Tyler Rachel was one of four men injured in the Chevron Pascagoula Refinery fire on July 14th. He was airlifted to USA in Mobile, where he is currently undergoing multiple surgeries while in intensive care. Family members say that roughly 75 percent of his body received burns.

Community members gathered together to offer prayers and support for Rachel and his family.

WXXV News 25’s Elizabeth Keen spoke to friends and the 8U Lady Braves softball team about what Rachel means to them.
