Prayer for the Election

While election officials prepare for large crowds and candidates prepare for victory speeches, others turned to prayer for preparation.
Dozens entered the doors of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Long Beach to kneel and pray during adoration. Those who showed up tell News 25 tonight’s adoration was about more than Election Day or one specification candidate. It was a chance to pray for the entire country as it transitions to new leadership for the next four years.
Resident Michele Ponte said, “We’re praying no matter who is elected that God guides them and continues to keep our country free and the freedom of religion.”
The doors of the church were opened from 6 to 8 p.m.
