Praise Temple of Biloxi looking for new location after receiving damage due to car wreck
A Biloxi church is relocating after sustaining damage from a car accident.
You may recall, back in February, Praise Temple of Biloxi was heavily damaged when not one, but two cars crashed through the front of their building on Division Street.
Yesterday, the decision was made to find a new location for the church.
Praise Temple lead Pastor Jakavious Pickett walked us through the room where they once worshipped together. Pieces of debris still cover the floor from the wreckage and tarps and plywood are serving as temporary walls.
They’re hoping to find a larger facility in East Harrison County by the summer. Pastor Pickett said, “This is bitter. I’m not going to say bittersweet. It’s heart wrenching. We put so much time, so much effort into this facility. It’s a home to us. It’s ahome away from home for many of us, especially for myself and my family. It’s something that’s heartbreaking to have to leave here.”
Until Praise Temple has a new facility, they will continue to offer virtual services and carry on with their community outreach programs like their food pantry from their facility on Nixon Street.
