Powers announces run for Gulfport District 2 supervisor

This morning around 10 o’clock, a big announcement was made outside of the Harrison County Courthouse in Gulfport.

Rebecca Powers formally announced that she is running for district 2 supervisor. Powers has lived on the Gulf Coast since 1996 and has volunteered on many civic boards and worked on many charitable organizations.

If elected, Powers hopes to make all essential services better without raising taxes. “After Katrina I really fell in love with this community. I have been here since 1996. I know what potential we have and I believe we are a world class destination and we can improve on the quality of life for our citizens without raising taxes.”

Powers also wants to focus on work force training and helping the community grow.
