Power companies working to restore power to customers

Hurricane Francine has caused some power outages in South Mississippi. Here is the latest on the power outages reported to the utilities:

Since 4 p.m. Tuesday, Mississippi Power had approximately 7,600 customers experienced an outage, with more than 4,100 already restored. As of 7 a.m., while the storm is still impacting the northern portion of our service territory, there are about 3,500 customers without service.

Coast Electric is reporting about 10,000 customers in Pearl River, Harrison and Hancock counties combined, with most of the outages coming in Pearl River County.
