Are You A Potential Foster Parent?

There is an urgent need for foster parents in Mississippi and this week Southern Christian Services wants to raise awareness and hopefully introduce children in need to their future families.
Today at the Hancock County Library and again Tuesday at the Crosby memorial library in picayune, those interested in fostering can learn more about the “Mississippi Heart Gallery…” a collection of children looking for a home in our state.
Of all the children in Mississippi who need foster parents, around 50 percent live in the six coastal counties.

“We’ll have an event where we’ll be giving information on how to be licensed as a foster parent, an adoptive parent.. Just a general information session, no strings attached.. If you ever thought about being a foster parent you can just get information on how to do that. You can also see a digital display of the heart gallery and a table top display photos of children that are on the heart gallery in the event that you might be interested in adopting any of them.”

Both of those meetings run from 5:30 to 7.
