Poster unveiled for Blessing of the Fleet
BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV)- We are now nearly a month way from the 96th annual Blessing of the Fleet and Shrimp Festival.
Wednesday in Biloxi, this year’s poster was revealed to commemorate one of the Coast’s most beloved traditions.
The poster was revealed at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. The poster was presented alongside this year’s Shrimp King as well as contestants for the Shrimp Queen title.
In just a matter of weeks, boats from all over the Coast will gather in Biloxi to have their vessels blessed for safe travels on the water.
This is the third year Amber Barstow, the artist behind the poster, has been chosen for the festival. She keeps it her mission to make sure she always captures the spirit of Biloxi.
Make sure to mark you calendars for July 6 as the Blessing of the Fleet will run that Sunday from 11 to 4 p.m. in the Biloxi Channel.
