Man convicted of felony leaving the scene

A man was convicted of felony leaving the scene of an accident today. John Cole of Biloxi hit a pedestrian while driving on Highway 609, running from the scene. The pedestrian, Douglas Couey of Jacksonville, Florida, died at the scene. Cole was sentenced to the maximum prison term, serving 15 with five years on post-release supervision. Ocean Springs man killed in boating accident

An Ocean Springs man died in a boating accident over the weekend. Department of Marine Resources and Jackson County sheriff’s deputies were called out to Old Fort Bayou on Sunday about a boating accident near the Sanctuary subdivision.
