Post office in Biloxi dedicated in honor of Fallen Officer Robert McKeithen
He was killed in 2019 outside of the Biloxi Police Department, now fallen Officer Robert McKeithen will be forever remembered and honored.
Officer McKeithen was killed in the line of duty in May 2019, only a few months before his retirement. McKeithen served the City of Biloxi for 24 years, starting in 1995.
Following heartfelt speeches from friends and colleagues, a replica of his new memorial plaque was revealed.
This will be posted outside the Biloxi Post Office in his memory. Chief of Police John Miller spoke with us about the bittersweet ceremony. “You know, it was a very difficult day for some. Although we’re glad to see it, it still brings back some memories and makes it a little difficult. But I can’t think of a better way, a better tribute to Robert than having this post office named after him. Where, you know, people will see it for years to come and remember Robert.”
The Biloxi Police Department also had Officer McKeithen’s car on display, a memory of each officer’s life that has been lost.
