Popp’s Ferry Road Widening Project

The final phase of road work is underway for the construction on Cedar Lake and Popp’s Ferry Road in Biloxi.
Tonight, workers will be applying the last coats of asphalt at the intersection where the two roads meet. The work at Cedar Lake and Popp’s Ferry is expected to be completed by Wednesday.
The section of Cedar Lake south of the Cedar Lake Bridge and north of the interstate will also be closed to traffic for five weeks beginning today. City contractors are installing sewer manholes, sewer mains, and other services along the stretch of roadway. Cecilia Dobbs Walton with the City of Biloxi said, “This is a great project for the city, of course improvements, and now that it is in the final stages this will be a lot better for motorists, businesses and economic development in this area of Popp’s Ferry and Cedar Lake.”
The workers will be out laying the asphalt between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. on the intersection. City officials ask drivers to be careful passing through the area.
