Popps Ferry Elementary students’ Cruisin’ The Coast art

Popp’s Ferry Elementary in Biloxi gets their students excited about Cruisin’ the Coast through art.

Kindergarten through fourth grade students had a chance to draw classic cars and trucks, along with local businesses, by painting and making tire tracks with toy vehicles.

Since Cruisin’ the Coast is the biggest event that takes place on the Coast every year, the school thought by doing art activities, it would be a great way for kids to know what’s to come and be seen over the next few days.

With their students excited about the event, the school is calling all cruisers to join in on their classic car parade on Thursday, October 6th from 8:10 a.m. to 8:40 a.m. Art teacher Brandi Hoxie said, “If something special is happening on the Coast, I will put my regular lessons on halt to do something that the kids can relate to and have fun doing and learn about. I had kids squealing. They can’t believe they are actually painting with real cars through paint. So, we had a great week and I think it was a fun activity.”

If you would like to participate in the car parade, please email Abagail Cowan @abagail.cowan@biloxischools.net or call the school.
