Popps Ferry Elementary Employee Wins “Hourly Associate of the Year” Award
The Chartwells ‘Hourly Employee of the Year’ is awarded to 1 out of 4,000 employees across seven states. This year’s winner is from Biloxi, Mississippi.
Popps Ferry Elementary School’s Cafeteria Manager, Barbara Bosarge, was nominated by her staff for her creativity and hard work. Bosarge has been the cafeteria manager for three years but has been working hard through the school district for the past 15 years. Her peers tell News 25 she is always going above and beyond to make meal time fun and exciting.
Bosarge says she will continue to do whatever is necessary to keep the children full, healthy and ready to learn. “I have a lot of promotions in the morning. I give them little incentives. I give them gifts for every special occasion. I don’t care if it’s Thanksgiving or Easter or Christmas, just any little thing I try and think of a promotion for them to get them in here and eat breakfast. And they love it.”
Barbara Bosarge is also active beyond school walls, volunteering with her church and numerous community projects.
