Pomp and Circumstance In Grade Schools

Graduation may not be until the weekend, but there was certainly pomp and circumstance throughout the halls of Pascagoula schools this morning.
Graduating seniors paraded through the district’s elementary and middle schools in their caps and gowns. The celebration is meant to congratulate seniors on their big accomplishment as well as have them serve as role models to the younger students, showing them what they can achieve with hard work.
The older students, as well as the little ones, tell News 25 it was a rewarding experience for them all. Senior Joseph Hasbrouck said, “I remember when I was this little in these schools and just looking at the tall, big kids and now we’re those tall, big kids and I remember how they were sort of examples for us back then and now it’s our turn to do the same.”
Fourth grader Henry Ros said, “It look like a lot of them had a lot of medals and one said valedictorian and I think I want to be my class valedictorian when I get to be a senior.”
Pascagoula seniors will graduate on Saturday evening.
